Fibreglass Roof Repair for New US Restaurant at Westwood Cross

Last week, the team at Frampton Roofing was called to a commercial flat roof in Westwood Cross, ahead of the UK launch of Captain D’s – a brand-new restaurant direct from Tennessee, USA.

The job? Resolve a persistent leak where ventilation pipework exited the building—right where the ducting met the roof.

The Challenge

With equipment already installed on the roof and opening day fast approaching, the Captain D’s team needed a fast, watertight fix without disrupting existing systems. The roof had signs of previous patching attempts that hadn’t held, and water was still finding its way in around the pipe penetrations.

What We Did

We carried out a full re-seal using our specialist fibreglass roofing system, ideal for detailed areas like ducting and mechanical fixings. Here's how we tackled it:

  • ✅ Cleaned and prepped the entire raised base
  • ✅ Stripped away failed sealant and loose coverings
  • ✅ Applied Lloyd’s approved fibreglass system across the surface and fully wrapped the base of all pipework
  • ✅ Finished with a tough, UV-resistant topcoat to protect against weather and foot traffic

This kind of detail work is crucial on commercial roofs—especially when dealing with large mechanical plant, where leaks often develop over time if not properly finished.

The Result

As you can see from the photos, the final result is clean, seamless and watertight. Every penetration point is securely sealed, giving peace of mind ahead of the restaurant’s grand opening.

Captain D’s now has a leak-free roof base ready to take on the worst of British weather—just in time for their UK launch.

The team at Frampton Roofing recently completed a large-scale industrial roofing project at the Flambeau warehouse and manufacturing facility in Ramsgate . This enormous roof had seen years of wear and was in urgent need of attention to prevent further deterioration. From moss-choked valleys to cracked sheeting and overgrown drainage systems, this was a serious clean-up and repair mission—executed while keeping the busy site operational throughout. The Challenge Flambeau’s factory spans a huge footprint, with long, pitched valley roofs running the length of the site. Over time, the central valleys had become overrun with: 🟢 Thick moss and vegetation growth 💧 Standing water due to blocked or sagging drainage ⚠️ Cracked and damaged sheeting along the valley lines 🌧️ Increased risk of leaks and pooling during heavy rain The goal was to restore effective drainage, clear debris, and repair visible damage—ensuring the roof would perform safely over the winter months and beyond.
